Agathe de Bailliencourt is an artist, born in Paris and currently based in Berlin. She works on canvas, paper, and directly onto built and natural environments. Recently, she has expanded her practice to include film, sculpture and print.
The recording of time is a recurring theme in her work. Since 2017, she has been interested in the reality of the present moment. Her recent work explores questions related to loss of control, collapse, acceleration, chain reactions, and, more recently, transformation.
Cinema runs as a common thread through her practice: a way of thinking, a syntax of time and space. It appears as a visual language, a compositional principle, a rhythm of editing, a mental archive, and a reservoir of images.
Since 2005, her work has been exhibited internationally. download cv
